After 16 years of living on Mayne, I finally made it over to Saturna yesterday!
I picked up a little mini drone a few months back, and the weather was clear enough today for a quick flight. My skills are terrible (I was mostly focussed on not crashing) and the cinematography is bad as a result. But here’s where I live!
Finally some warm weather. Had to do a ferry drop off on Galiano of the little one for a sleep over. It just feels like a midday boat ride.
It seemed like a perfect night for some pizza, Baxter cuddles and movies.
It’s been a weird day! There was a 3.9 magnitude earthquake in the middle of the night. Didn’t cause any damage, but I didn’t sleep through it either. Then it was snowing earlier as well. Not enough to stay on the ground, but weird times.
I’ll admit that I’ve never been a big fan of Christmas. Â It’s super high stress, finances are strained and instead of getting to relax and just hang out with friends and family, you find yourself constantly working your butt off to entertain family and friends.
Not this year! Â This year I’m forcing myself into uber-Christmas-cheer mode. Â I got a bit of a jump start on my shopping, so I won’t be completely last-minute shopping. Â We’re going to get an awesome tree and go a little overboard on decor. Â It’s not even the mid-point of the month, and I’ve already consumed eggnog.
I’m actually going to take some time off around Christmas this year too. Â Not entirely sure what that’s going to look like yet, but I plan on shutting down the computer for at least a few days around the holidays.Â
